Boys Troop 566

A Scout on a mountain summit

Our program

Youth-led, every week.

Troop 566 is entirely youth-led: Scouts choose the outings, run the meetings, and mentor one another up through the ranks. Adults are there for safety and support — not to run the show. We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, September through May, at Menlo Church in Saratoga.

The path to Eagle

How advancement works

01

Scout → First Class

Core outdoor and Scoutcraft skills, earned on campouts in the first year or two.

02

Star & Life

Merit badges and real leadership positions in the troop.

03

Eagle Scout

A service project the Scout plans and leads, then a board of review.
